Alar
Fight is extremly simple
P1 -> Melee on adds have a kidney shot + CoS rotation so you don't take the aoe damage (usually 2 groups 2 rogues in each so 2 rotations).
Tanks when Alar is doing Quill run off the platform your on and start running back to your designated area. You can go in before Al'ar is landing and make it so max you get 1 Wing Buffet (you will have to test on how to do this).
Also Tanks when she is doign Quill RUN OFF don't jump at the edge of the platform.
At 1% or w/e have a tank Taunt alar and during this time high aggro people use ur deaggro abilties Soul Shatter/Invis etc.
P2 -> Give everyone fire pots, turn your spell graphic detail level to high and get about 9k hp it will help.
We use casters on Adds, melee on Alar for phase 2.
A HUGE help would be to bring 3 paladins. If a tank gets melt armor BoP him, since this boss is tauntable it would be assumed that the other tank would be right under him in threat (there should be no way you pull aggro as long as a tank taunts at 1% and everyone uses their deaggro abilties. Threat doesn't reset between phase 1 and 2). This has a 0% chance to fail and would make Al'ar go to the new tank where Taunt has a 18% (?) resist rate. Trust me save you headaches of Taunt Missed, Mocking Missed, etc, and your tank getting 1 shot.
For the 2 tanks on the Adds in phase 2, I will have to check but I believe we have our tanks charge into where Al'ar lands taunts the mobs and moves out before Al'ar does the AoE Knockback. Grab the adds and take them off to the side.
Healers be careful on the Meteor on your healing. Paladins should really be the only ones IMO to heal the person that gets meteor'd. Because you will probably get aggro from the adds which can rip through a priest/druid pretty easily.
Biggest thing to watch is Flame patch. Hardest thing for tanks will be picking up the little adds after meteor. We usually put 1 tank on each side when she goes inthe air. Whichever side she goes to they try to grab both adds till the other tank can come and pick one off of the other.
Solorian: Personally I think this fight would be easier with 200 AR on the raid w/ 2 tanks at 500 ar. Relistically just get two tanks with High AR.
Have them stack on one and another far off OUT of Arcaine Missles Range. Litterally they should stand ontop of each other. NEVER MOVING. If you get wrath start running for the two tanks.
This is the key: YOU Must be closer to the tanks than to anyone else. BUT you can't be closer to the tanks then they are to each other. If you understand this it helps. After you pass the debuff to them run back to the raid.
Just burn her at 20% its a free kill put 2 shamans in tank group for tremor and heal the offtanks. If the offtanks should die have paladins go over to take the next debuff and Divine Shield before they get it. Then have shamans go over take it, die, ankh, take it, die again. Its very important you deal with the priests by melee w/ interupts fast and stack lots of aoe.
Enjoy progression, gj on vashj and have fun with kael.
edit: don't use these as a strat but more of some tips please there are so many different ways to do a boss. Whatever works for your guild works.

Wowwiki is wrong either way, it says Al'ar is female, yet refers to Al'ar as "he" several times throughout the article.

It's an elemental anyways... since when do elementals have genders? It's kind of like Eosh... can't really tell what he is because he doesn't even know what he is. Al'ar is the same way.
